Instead of focusing on what you should do to become successful it often helps to know and understand what you should not do. Many times people do not know they even are making mistakes which is what makes failure so difficult. They thought they were doing everything right and by the book. The most common mistakes people make are waiting for the right time not believing in yourself and not fully developing.
In order to succeed as a home based entrepreneur you cannot wait to get started. Because this is such a huge risk many people put it off because they are not sure it is the right time. What you have to realize is that you never will know it is the right time until you give it a try. You have to realize that the longer you wait and put of getting started the less likely it actually will happen. This is a mistake that many people make because they are trying to keep themselves in their own comfort zone. They do not know what will happen but they know they cannot fail if they do not try.
Another mistake you have to avoid if you want to become a successful home based entrepreneur is not believing in yourself. If you go about thinking that you will fail immediately if you try this endeavor you most likely will fail. There are many ways in which this occurs in people. Most often they tell themselves that there is no way they will succeed because it only is for other people. Sometimes it appears in the form of thinking they do not have the right skills for the job. You have to make sure you do not do this and actually believe in yourself.
The other common mistake that people make when they are trying to become a home based entrepreneur is to focus solely on the business and not on themselves. Although it is necessary to pay attention to your business you also have to make sure you are developing the skills needed to be an entrepreneur. These include confidence and commitment. If you forget to develop yourself your lack of skills will end up holding back your business.
